Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Danica Grujičić held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Belgrade Luka Gori at the Palace of Serbia. The main approach was rated the signing of the Memorandum on cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences between the Ministry of Health of Serbia and the Ministry of Health of Italy in June 2011 as the most important step so far in the field of health.

The ministries of the two countries signed an agreement on celiac disease in 2017, and the national transplant centers signed a protocol on cooperation in the field of organ donation and transplantation in early 2018, but this process has been temporarily suspended.
Serbia and Italy have a number of agreements and joint projects in the field of health, especially in the field of infectious and cardiovascular diseases and the treatment of children. At the meeting, it was concluded that a direct meeting should be organized between the ministers of health of Serbia and Italy, as well as with the representatives of the national centers for transplantation, with the aim of continuing cooperation and implementing agreements for mutual benefit.
