Dr Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, discussed today with Shuo Zhang, Senior Health Specialist, who led the World Bank delegation, the results of the "COVID-19" project, as well as the elements of the implementation of the new "Serbia Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control" Project, which is financed from this international institution’s loan.
On that occasion, the World Bank representatives expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the "COVID-19" project, which ends in June. Minister Lončar and Shuo Zhang highlighted the importance of the new project, which focuses on chronic non-communicable diseases, currently the leading cause of death in the world. The World Bank representatives have expressed their belief that this project, the first in the Western Balkans region to deal with this topic, will be an example for other countries in terms of success and implementation, like all the previous ones delivered in Serbia.
