Dr Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, addressed the WHO Executive Board’s 157th session in Geneva today for the first time as a member of this body.
Minister Lončar thanked all the countries which voted for Serbia's election to the WHO Executive Board and called for reform of this organization, transparency in its operations and less political influence, as well as greater commitment to health issues and their resolution.
Immediately after the address, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus held a one-on-one meeting with Minister Lončar, to discuss further steps in WHO’s operation.
