Dr Zlatibor Lončar, Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, met today with the representatives of the AstraZeneca company, Ruud Dobber, the company's Executive Vice President and Hans Sijbesma, Area Vice President Central and Eastern Europe and Baltics to discuss promoting cooperation and partnership in the coming period, especially in terms of providing state-of-the-art therapies for patients in our country.

At the meeting, which was attended, in addition to the Minister of Health and the AstraZeneca company executives, by Edward Ferguson, United Kingdom Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia and Jadranka Joksimović foreign policy adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, discussion included the clinical trials that this company carries out in our country, as well as sustainable access to innovative therapies for patients in Serbia and the region.
Special focus in the discussion was devoted to AstraZeneca's participation in the operation of the BIO4 campus, through the use of artificial intelligence in the detection of lung cancer, genetic testing of BRCA mutations in patients with early breast cancer, as well as other initiatives.
